Your first connection
This guide takes you from a fresh order to a working macOS desktop.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”Most standard machines are provisioned within minutes of payment (custom configurations can take up to 24 hours). Once ready, you’ll receive a welcome email and your machine appears in your dashboard at app.myremotemac.com.
You will need:
- Host / IP address of your Mac
- Username and password
- A client app for your platform (see Connect)
Connect to the desktop (GUI)
Section titled “Connect to the desktop (GUI)”- Open Finder → Go → Connect to Server (
⌘K). - Enter
vnc://YOUR-IP:59010and click Connect. - Sign in with your username and password.
The built-in Screen Sharing app opens your remote desktop.
- Install a VNC client such as RealVNC Viewer or TigerVNC.
- Create a new connection to
YOUR-IP:59010. - Authenticate with your username and password.

Connect over SSH (terminal)
Section titled “Connect over SSH (terminal)”ssh your-username@YOUR-IPEnter your password when prompted (or use a key for passwordless login). You now have a root-capable shell on your Mac.
Having trouble?
